The Hunt & The Craft
The shop emerged from a personal quest. After spending hours sourcing the internet for that one specific designer piece, only to find upon arrival that it didn't fit as expected, the frustration grew. Online, you can’t feel the fabric or truly experience the fit.
That love for the physical "hunt" started early. I was brought to second-hand designer consignment stores in Antwerp by my mother, Lida van Adrighem, until I reached an age where I began searching the racks myself. I missed a place in Rotterdam that offered that same feeling: a shop where you find nothing but labels and gems, one after another. While these spots exist in Antwerp and other cities, they were scarce in Rotterdam.
Our Roots
Since I was young, my life has revolved around clothing, graffiti, and skating. Our visual identity stems directly from those roots; our logo is a one-liner tag of my name. You see this personal signature on every bag that leaves the store: each one is hand-tagged with a marker at the time of purchase.
My perspective was further shaped during my years at the boutique T0K10, styling assistent at Daily Paper and through my work as a stylist for artists & friends. That experience taught me what makes a garment iconic, but also how the commercial fashion world can sometimes lose its soul.
Consignment & Atelier
At its core, Maison Maas is a consignment store. We carefully select pre-owned clothing and vintage designer pieces that remain relevant today. For us, second-hand is the standard; the world already has enough quality clothing.
Additionally, our "house" functions as an atelier. Together with my mother—under the names Maas Broekhuizen and VAN ADRIGHEM—we produce small batches using high-quality deadstock fabrics, often sourced from designers in Antwerp. We create what we miss: from hand-knitted beanies to trousers built from scratch to hoodies painted and embroidered by hand.
